Grants

We grant small-scale scientific research projects in the field of asthma and COPD. In addition, activities by, for, and with patients with asthma or COPD are also supported. Annually, an amount of approximately 250,000 euros is available for 6-8 projects.
- The maximum subsidy amount is 35,000 euros per project. For personnel costs and allowances, the most current NWO tables will be leading.
- Per funding round, each research group and its affiliated researchers may submit a maximum of one application for a project grant.
- The duration of the requested project cannot exceed 2 years.
- The final report of an approved application must be submitted within 6 months after the project's end date. The grant will only be paid after the final report has been positively assessed.

Applications that do not meet the grant requirments of the SAB or exceed the SAB budget can be forwarded as subsidy applications to the Stichting Fonds Nederlands Sanatorium in Davos (SFNSD).
If the SFNSD has approved the application, this will be mentioned in the rejection letter from the SAB.
Further processing of the grant will be carried out by the SFNSD.

From 2024, all grant applications must be submitted digitally. The questions correspond to those of the existing forms. If you have already submitted an application in the period 2018-2023, you received an email asking you to activate your account. You can also find the grant applications for which you were an applicant or co-applicant on the new website. 

The deadline for submitting project grants has been set on March 1 and  October 1.

Before you start filling out the grant application:
- CVs of applicant and co-applicants must be uploaded as separate files.
- When applying for a grant for personnel costs, the completed personnel costs form must be uploaded.
- An application does not have to be completed in one go. Interim storage is possible.
